Seraphic wine label
We just bottled our first batch of honey mead using 6 quarts of orange blossom honey. We split the batch and flavored one blueberry, and one Apricot. This is the early stage of the apricot label using Painter 11. I think I'm calling it Seraphic, as in angelic. I used Makana as the angel from a photo I took of her swinging standing up on our swing set last year. I like it. I figure that if I'm not going to the studio, I may as well work on something. And we have to have labels done before we put the mead away to age for a year.

Sketching with Painter 11
I love this program! Painter 11 is so powerful. I have only scratched the surface of what it can do, but I'm having so much fun doing it. I'm playing with pencil sketching. I love to work in graphite anyway, so doing it digital is great. i like being able to move elements around if the composition isn't working out.

This is a page from the book I've written, "Kana and the Missing Koi". I'm afraid I've neglected this blog in order to devote my time to getting as many illustrations for this story done as possible. My intent is to include these in my portfolio at the upcoming WPa SCBWI conference this November. It was done entirely in Painter 11. What a great tool for illustrators!
